The shoes got a hole in them within 2.5 months of casual use. No running or anything crazy. Just normal walking, mostly around an office. The inside sole wore through and exposed the rigid sole underneath, making it extremely uncomfortable to walk in. What's more, the outer sole is almost worn all the way through as well. Another few days of use would have worn a hole all the way through.
I have never in my life had shoes wear out in 2.5 months. I'm not even sure I've ever owned a pair that wore out in less than a year. And these are possibly the most expensive shoes I've ever owned.
I got in contact with Rieker customer service and they refused to assist me in any way whatsoever, stating it is company policy that I must go through the retailer who I bought them from, and that retailer can submit a warranty claim on my behalf. I got in contact with the retailer, who submitted a warranty claim, and after two weeks they still hadn't heard a single word back from Rieker. The retailer eventually agreed to refund me out of their own pocket and keep pursuing the warranty claim on their own.
Rieker sells expensive shoes of extremely subpar quality, and then does not provide customer service after the fact. Do not buy shoes from this manufacturer.
